Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Information Technology, Footwear & Textile and Plantations sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share declined 0.49%.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were PCH Holdings PLC (CM:PCHH), which rose 25.00% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.500 at the close. Meanwhile, Singhe Hospitals Ltd (CM:SIGH) added 25.00% or 0.300 points to end at 1.500 and Tess Agro PLC (CM:TESS) was up 20.00% or 0.100 points to 0.600 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Amana Takaful Life Ltd (CM:ANTK), which fell 24.19% or 3.00 points to trade at 9.40 at the close. Kelani Cables PLC (CM:KCAB) declined 10.37% or 8.10 points to end at 70.00 and Dolphin Hotels PLC (CM:STAF) was down 8.42% or 2.30 points to 25.00.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 86 to 78 and 53 ended unchanged.
Shares in Kelani Cables PLC (CM:KCAB) fell to 3-years lows; down 10.37% or 8.10 to 70.00.
Crude oil for October delivery was up 0.42% or 0.29 to $68.88 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in November rose 0.23% or 0.18 to hit $78.36 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.26% or 3.20 to trade at $1211.40 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.70% to 214.870, while USD/LKR rose 0.55% to 163.740.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.05% at 94.48.
