Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Banking, Financials & Insurance, Diversified Holdings and Power & Energy sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share lost 0.47%.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were SMB Leasing PLC (CM:SEMB), which rose 25.00% or 0.1000 points to trade at 0.5000 at the close. Meanwhile, Tess Agro PLC (CM:TESS) added 20.00% or 0.100 points to end at 0.600 and Selinsing PLC (CM:SELI) was up 14.12% or 86.60 points to 700.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Paragon Ceylon PLC (CM:PARA), which fell 20.48% or 12.90 points to trade at 50.10 at the close. Autodrome PLC (CM:AUTO) declined 11.90% or 10.40 points to end at 77.00 and Renuka Shaw Wallace PLC (CM:COCO) was down 11.51% or 1.60 points to 12.30.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 79 to 62 and 64 ended unchanged.
Shares in Tess Agro PLC (CM:TESS) rose to 5-year lows; gaining 20.00% or 0.100 to 0.600. Shares in Renuka Shaw Wallace PLC (CM:COCO) fell to 5-year lows; falling 11.51% or 1.60 to 12.30.
Crude oil for November delivery was up 0.87% or 0.65 to $74.94 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 1.18% or 0.99 to hit $84.90 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.12% or 1.40 to trade at $1190.00 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.07% to 223.005, while USD/LKR rose 0.18% to 170.940.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.30% at 95.73.
