Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Footwear & Textile, Investment Trust and Information Technology sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share declined 0.45% to hit a new 1-month low.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were SMB Leasing PLC (CM:SEMB), which rose 14.29% or 0.1000 points to trade at 0.8000 at the close. Meanwhile, Hemas Power PLC (CM:HPWR) added 7.98% or 1.70 points to end at 23.00 and Amana Takaful Life Ltd (CM:ANTK) was up 6.67% or 0.10 points to 1.60 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Ceylon Printers PLC (CM:CPRT), which fell 17.81% or 13.00 points to trade at 60.00 at the close. Shalimar Estates (CM:SHAL) declined 17.33% or 398.20 points to end at 1900.00 and Hikkaduwa Beach Resort Ltd (CM:CITH) was down 10.34% or 1.50 points to 13.00.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 112 to 43 and 56 ended unchanged.
Shares in Ceylon Printers PLC (CM:CPRT) fell to 5-year lows; falling 17.81% or 13.00 to 60.00.
Crude oil for December delivery was down 0.51% or 0.26 to $50.59 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 0.31% or 0.16 to hit $51.62 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.20% or 2.55 to trade at $1265.15 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.16% to 180.200, while USD/LKR rose 0.10% to 147.495.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.02% at 98.60.
