Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Land & Property, Stores & Supplies and Beverages & Tobacco sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share lost 0.41%.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Industrial Asphalts (Ceylon) PLC (CM:ASPH), which rose 16.00% or 48.00 points to trade at 348.00 at the close. Meanwhile, PCH Holdings PLC (CM:PCHH) added 14.29% or 0.100 points to end at 0.800 and Commercial Leasing & Finance PLC (CM:COLE) was up 11.11% or 0.300 points to 3.000 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Swadeshi Industrial Works PLC (CM:SWAD), which fell 23.90% or 3062.50 points to trade at 9750.00 at the close. Kelsey Developments PLC (CM:KDL) declined 18.18% or 8.00 points to end at 36.00 and Good Hope PLC (CM:GOOD) was down 14.68% or 172.00 points to 1000.00.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 100 to 66 and 52 ended unchanged.
Shares in Kelsey Developments PLC (CM:KDL) fell to 52-week lows; down 18.18% or 8.00 to 36.00.
Crude oil for April delivery was down 0.66% or 0.41 to $61.27 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in April fell 0.44% or 0.29 to hit $65.13 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract fell 0.47% or 6.20 to trade at $1325.90 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.40% to 215.625, while USD/LKR fell 0.02% to 155.210.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.09% at 89.95.
