Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Land & Property, Construction & Engineering and Information Technology sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share lost 0.40%.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were PC House PLC (CM:PCHO), which rose 50.00% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.200 at the close. Meanwhile, Galadari Hotels Lanka PLC (CM:GHLL) added 12.07% or 1.40 points to end at 13.00 and Kotagala Plantations PLC (CM:KOTA) was up 10.91% or 2.40 points to 24.40 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Shalimar Estates (CM:SHAL), which fell 24.70% or 562.00 points to trade at 1713.00 at the close. Hayleys Fibre PLC (CM:HEXP) declined 21.28% or 17.90 points to end at 66.20 and Office Equipment PLC (CM:OFEQ) was down 19.74% or 493.40 points to 2006.00.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 126 to 92 and 17 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for December delivery was up 0.15% or 0.07 to $46.13 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 0.55% or 0.27 to hit $49.07 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.05% or 0.60 to trade at $1147.90 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.13% to 215.625, while USD/LKR fell 0.25% to 140.730.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.29% at 97.08.
