Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Information Technology, Land & Property and Palm Oil sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share declined 0.40%.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Blue Diamonds Jewellery Worldwide PLC (CM:BLUE), which rose 11.11% or 0.100 points to trade at 1.000 at the close. Meanwhile, Bansei Royal Resorts Hikkaduwa Limited (CM:BANS) added 9.52% or 0.60 points to end at 6.90 and On’ally Holdings PLC (CM:ONAL) was up 8.95% or 4.10 points to 49.90 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were ASCOT Holdings PLC (CM:ASCO), which fell 25.00% or 10.00 points to trade at 30.00 at the close. Selinsing PLC (CM:SELI) declined 18.65% or 130.70 points to end at 570.00 and Browns Investments PLC (CM:BROW) was down 7.41% or 0.200 points to 2.500.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 91 to 59 and 68 ended unchanged.
Shares in Selinsing PLC (CM:SELI) fell to 5-year lows; falling 18.65% or 130.70 to 570.00.
Crude oil for February delivery was down 0.20% or 0.13 to $64.17 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in March fell 0.95% or 0.67 to hit $69.59 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract fell 0.16% or 2.10 to trade at $1332.80 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.33% to 211.655, while USD/LKR rose 0.02% to 153.860.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.43% at 90.52.
