Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Trading, Plantations and Footwear & Textile sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share lost 0.38% to hit a new 3-months low.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Lankem Developments PLC (CM:LDEV), which rose 22.45% or 1.100 points to trade at 6.000 at the close. Meanwhile, Serendib Engineering Group PLC (CM:IDL) added 12.79% or 1.10 points to end at 9.70 and Paragon Ceylon PLC (CM:PARA) was up 12.29% or 8.00 points to 73.10 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Indo Malay PLC (CM:INDO), which fell 22.01% or 314.60 points to trade at 1115.00 at the close. Good Hope PLC (CM:GOOD) declined 19.33% or 299.60 points to end at 1250.40 and Adam Investments Ltd (CM:ADAM) was down 16.67% or 0.100 points to 0.500.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 130 to 78 and 50 ended unchanged.
Shares in Lankem Developments PLC (CM:LDEV) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 22.45% or 1.100 to 6.000.
Crude oil for October delivery was up 0.47% or 0.23 to $48.89 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in November rose 0.97% or 0.52 to hit $53.90 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.07% or 0.91 to trade at $1343.59 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.41% to 199.185, while USD/LKR rose 0.13% to 152.660.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.05% at 92.23.
