Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Information Technology, Services and Trading sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share fell 0.36%.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were PC House PLC (CM:PCHO), which rose 100.00% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.200 at the close. Meanwhile, Udapussellawa Plantations PLC (CM:UDPL) added 17.28% or 4.20 points to end at 28.50 and J L Morison Sons & Jones (Ceylon) PLC (CM:MORI) was up 14.94% or 63.70 points to 490.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Kalamazoo Systems PLC (CM:RNUK), which fell 24.31% or 175.10 points to trade at 545.10 at the close. Lankem Ceylon PLC (CM:LCEY) declined 10.60% or 5.10 points to end at 43.00 and Amana Takaful PLC (CM:ATL) was down 10.00% or 0.100 points to 0.900.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 91 to 77 and 58 ended unchanged.
Shares in PC House PLC (CM:PCHO) rose to 52-week highs; rising 100.00% or 0.100 to 0.200. Shares in Lankem Ceylon PLC (CM:LCEY) fell to 5-year lows; down 10.60% or 5.10 to 43.00.
Crude oil for August delivery was down 1.72% or 0.81 to $46.26 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 1.47% or 0.73 to hit $48.88 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.02% or 0.27 to trade at $1218.93 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.05% to 198.400, while USD/LKR rose 0.05% to 153.710.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.21% at 96.19.
