Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Services, Motors and Trading sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share fell 0.34%.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Adam Investments Ltd (CM:ADAM), which rose 50.00% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.300 at the close. Meanwhile, Bimputh Finance PLC (CM:BIMP) added 14.77% or 4.40 points to end at 34.20 and Asia Asset Finance Ltd (CM:ASAS) was up 10.00% or 0.100 points to 1.100 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Sathosa Motors PLC (CM:SMOT), which fell 26.83% or 110.00 points to trade at 300.00 at the close. On’ally Holdings PLC (CM:ONAL) declined 15.38% or 14.60 points to end at 80.30 and Laxapana Batteries PLC (CM:LITE) was down 9.65% or 1.10 points to 10.30.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 89 to 75 and 60 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for September delivery was down 0.23% or 0.16 to $68.36 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 0.54% or 0.40 to hit $73.84 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.42% or 5.10 to trade at $1230.60 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.20% to 209.835, while USD/LKR rose 0.06% to 159.540.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.15% at 94.25.
