Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Services, Telecoms and Footwear & Textile sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share declined 0.32% to hit a new 6-months low.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Samson International PLC (CM:SIL), which rose 9.77% or 8.80 points to trade at 98.90 at the close. Meanwhile, Lanka Aluminium Industries PLC (CM:LALU) added 9.27% or 7.00 points to end at 82.50 and Radiant Gems International PLC (CM:RGEM) was up 7.00% or 1.70 points to 26.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Kelani Valley Plantations PLC (CM:KVAL), which fell 22.86% or 16.00 points to trade at 54.00 at the close. Kelani Cables PLC (CM:KCAB) declined 15.83% or 19.00 points to end at 101.00 and Swarnamahal Financial Services PLC (CM:SWAR) was down 9.09% or 0.100 points to 1.000.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 91 to 64 and 53 ended unchanged.
Shares in Kelani Cables PLC (CM:KCAB) fell to 52-week lows; down 15.83% or 19.00 to 101.00.
Crude oil for March delivery was up 0.47% or 0.25 to $53.79 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in April rose 0.58% or 0.33 to hit $56.89 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract fell 0.36% or 4.35 to trade at $1215.05 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.28% to 188.185, while USD/LKR rose 0.10% to 150.640.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.20% at 100.03.
