Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Construction & Engineering, Healthcare and Stores & Supplies sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share lost 0.31%.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Huejay International Investments PLC (CM:HUEJ), which rose 26.83% or 5.50 points to trade at 26.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Ceylon Printers PLC (CM:CPRT) added 25.00% or 14.90 points to end at 74.50 and Bansei Royal Resorts Hikkaduwa Limited (CM:BANS) was up 21.15% or 1.10 points to 6.30 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Office Equipment PLC (CM:OFEQ), which fell 19.60% or 16.60 points to trade at 68.10 at the close. Printcare PLC (CM:CARE) declined 15.58% or 4.80 points to end at 26.00 and Union Chemicals Lanka PLC (CM:UCHE) was down 12.50% or 50.00 points to 350.00.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 76 to 68 and 58 ended unchanged.
Shares in Printcare PLC (CM:CARE) fell to 3-years lows; losing 15.58% or 4.80 to 26.00.
Crude oil for November delivery was up 1.08% or 0.77 to $72.34 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 0.78% or 0.63 to hit $81.42 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.04% or 0.50 to trade at $1199.60 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.13% to 222.380, while USD/LKR rose 0.20% to 169.290.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.23% at 94.10.
