Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Construction & Engineering, Footwear & Textile and Trading sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share lost 0.31%.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Adam Investments Ltd (CM:ADAM), which rose 50.00% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.300 at the close. Meanwhile, PCH Holdings PLC (CM:PCHH) added 16.67% or 0.100 points to end at 0.700 and Amana Takaful PLC (CM:ATL) was up 12.50% or 0.100 points to 0.900 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Samson International PLC (CM:SIL), which fell 12.79% or 12.50 points to trade at 85.20 at the close. Beruwala Resorts PLC (CM:BERU) declined 12.50% or 0.100 points to end at 0.700 and Office Equipment PLC (CM:OFEQ) was down 11.55% or 8.50 points to 65.10.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 84 to 71 and 59 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for September delivery was down 0.52% or 0.35 to $66.81 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 0.42% or 0.30 to hit $71.86 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.37% or 4.60 to trade at $1222.70 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.95% to 208.425, while USD/LKR rose 0.03% to 159.940.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.37% at 95.08.
