Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Information Technology, Construction & Engineering and Trading sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share lost 0.30%.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Kahawatte Plantations PLC (CM:KAHA), which rose 10.50% or 3.60 points to trade at 37.90 at the close. Meanwhile, Dolphin Hotels PLC (CM:STAF) added 8.78% or 4.60 points to end at 57.00 and Printcare PLC (CM:CARE) was up 8.57% or 3.30 points to 41.80 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were PC House PLC (CM:PCHO), which fell 50.00% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.200 at the close. Office Equipment PLC (CM:OFEQ) declined 19.58% or 489.40 points to end at 2010.00 and Kalamazoo Systems PLC (CM:KZOO) was down 19.07% or 579.70 points to 2460.00.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 135 to 91 and 23 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for November delivery was down 0.19% or 0.09 to $47.01 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 0.34% or 0.17 to hit $50.42 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.87% or 10.10 to trade at $1154.40 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.01% to 215.140, while USD/LKR rose 0.15% to 140.280.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.01% at 94.89.
