Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Land & Property, Healthcare and Footwear & Textile sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share fell 0.28% to hit a new 3-months low.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Lanka Ceramic PLC (CM:CERA), which rose 18.14% or 23.20 points to trade at 151.10 at the close. Meanwhile, Arpico Finance Company PLC (CM:ARPI) added 15.41% or 23.10 points to end at 173.00 and SMB Leasing PLC (CM:SEMB) was up 14.29% or 0.1000 points to 0.8000 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were PC Pharma PLC (CM:PCPH), which fell 50.00% or 0.1000 points to trade at 0.1000 at the close. Swadeshi Industrial Works PLC (CM:SWAD) declined 41.46% or 5312.50 points to end at 7500.00 and Sathosa Motors PLC (CM:SMOT) was down 16.63% or 49.90 points to 250.10.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 113 to 62 and 63 ended unchanged.
Shares in Lanka Ceramic PLC (CM:CERA) rose to 5-year highs; rising 18.14% or 23.20 to 151.10. Shares in PC Pharma PLC (CM:PCPH) fell to all time lows; down 50.00% or 0.1000 to 0.1000. Shares in Swadeshi Industrial Works PLC (CM:SWAD) fell to 3-years lows; losing 41.46% or 5312.50 to 7500.00. Shares in Sathosa Motors PLC (CM:SMOT) fell to 52-week lows; down 16.63% or 49.90 to 250.10.
Crude oil for September delivery was up 0.57% or 0.28 to $49.45 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in October rose 0.59% or 0.31 to hit $52.45 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.85% or 10.67 to trade at $1273.27 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.33% to 199.445, while USD/LKR fell 0.01% to 153.280.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.05% at 93.43.
