Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Services, Land & Property and Motors sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share declined 0.28% to hit a new 6-months low.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Colombo Investment Trust PLC (CM:CIT), which rose 17.33% or 13.00 points to trade at 88.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Bansei Royal Resorts Hikkaduwa Limited (CM:BANS) added 14.63% or 1.20 points to end at 9.40 and Amana Takaful PLC (CM:ATL) was up 12.50% or 0.100 points to 0.900 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Ceylon Hospitals PLC (CM:CHL), which fell 11.72% or 11.60 points to trade at 87.40 at the close. Selinsing PLC (CM:SELI) declined 11.10% or 149.80 points to end at 1200.00 and Tangerine Beach Hotels PLC (CM:TANG) was down 11.02% or 6.60 points to 53.30.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 78 to 59 and 59 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for February delivery was down 0.36% or 0.19 to $52.30 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in February fell 0.39% or 0.21 to hit $54.25 a barrel, while the February Gold contract fell 0.10% or 1.15 to trade at $1132.05 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.08% to 183.460, while USD/LKR fell 0.06% to 148.620.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.19% at 102.84.
