Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Construction & Engineering, Telecoms and Information Technology sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share lost 0.28% to hit a new 1-month low.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were SMB Leasing PLC (CM:SEMB), which rose 16.67% or 0.1000 points to trade at 0.7000 at the close. Meanwhile, Huejay International Investments PLC (CM:HUEJ) added 15.49% or 5.90 points to end at 44.00 and Selinsing PLC (CM:SELI) was up 14.12% or 86.60 points to 700.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were York Arcade Holdings PLC (CM:YORK), which fell 10.47% or 13.50 points to trade at 115.50 at the close. Tea Smallholder Factories PLC (CM:TSML) declined 10.29% or 3.90 points to end at 34.00 and Blue Diamonds Jewellery Worldwide PLC (CM:BLUE) was down 10.00% or 0.100 points to 0.900.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 91 to 77 and 60 ended unchanged.
Shares in York Arcade Holdings PLC (CM:YORK) fell to 52-week lows; down 10.47% or 13.50 to 115.50.
Crude oil for April delivery was up 0.03% or 0.02 to $60.98 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in May fell 0.14% or 0.09 to hit $64.80 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract fell 0.18% or 2.40 to trade at $1323.20 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.10% to 217.335, while USD/LKR rose 0.06% to 155.960.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.02% at 89.77.
