Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Stores & Supplies, Plantations and Power & Energy sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share declined 0.26% to hit a new 1-month low.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were SMB Leasing PLC (CM:SEMB), which rose 25.00% or 0.1000 points to trade at 0.5000 at the close. Meanwhile, Tess Agro PLC (CM:TESS) added 20.00% or 0.100 points to end at 0.600 and Blue Diamonds Jewellery Worldwide PLC (CM:BLUE) was up 20.00% or 0.100 points to 0.600 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were PCH Holdings PLC (CM:PCHH), which fell 33.33% or 0.200 points to trade at 0.400 at the close. Kelani Valley Plantations PLC (CM:KVAL) declined 22.42% or 17.60 points to end at 60.90 and Nanda Investments and Finance PLC (CM:NAND) was down 18.71% or 8.40 points to 36.50.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 123 to 51 and 56 ended unchanged.
Shares in Kelani Valley Plantations PLC (CM:KVAL) fell to 52-week lows; falling 22.42% or 17.60 to 60.90.
Crude oil for September delivery was up 0.86% or 0.58 to $67.78 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in October rose 0.88% or 0.64 to hit $73.25 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.25% or 3.00 to trade at $1201.90 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.30% to 204.735, while USD/LKR rose 0.05% to 160.090.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.01% at 96.15.
