Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Information Technology, Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals and Healthcare sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share lost 0.24%.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were J L Morison Sons & Jones (Ceylon) PLC (CM:MORI), which rose 17.29% or 73.70 points to trade at 500.00 at the close. Meanwhile, SMB Leasing PLC (CM:SEMB) added 14.29% or 0.1000 points to end at 0.8000 and PCH Holdings PLC (CM:PCHH) was up 11.11% or 0.100 points to 1.000 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were PC Pharma PLC (CM:PCPH), which fell 50.00% or 0.1000 points to trade at 0.1000 at the close. Union Chemicals Lanka PLC (CM:UCHE) declined 22.00% or 110.00 points to end at 390.00 and Mercantile Shipping Company PLC (CM:MSL) was down 14.73% or 9.50 points to 55.00.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 105 to 72 and 57 ended unchanged.
Shares in PC Pharma PLC (CM:PCPH) fell to all time lows; losing 50.00% or 0.1000 to 0.1000. Shares in Union Chemicals Lanka PLC (CM:UCHE) fell to 3-years lows; down 22.00% or 110.00 to 390.00. Shares in Mercantile Shipping Company PLC (CM:MSL) fell to 5-year lows; falling 14.73% or 9.50 to 55.00.
Crude oil for November delivery was unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to $50.66 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 0.73% or 0.41 to hit $56.83 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.00% or 0.03 to trade at $1297.53 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.13% to 206.440, while USD/LKR rose 0.10% to 152.910.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.39% at 92.31.
