Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Construction & Engineering, Services and Manufacturing sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share fell 0.23%.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Adam Investments Ltd (CM:ADAM), which rose 50.00% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.300 at the close. Meanwhile, Samson International PLC (CM:SIL) added 24.95% or 23.70 points to end at 118.70 and Tess Agro PLC (CM:TESS) was up 20.00% or 0.100 points to 0.600 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Huejay International Investments PLC (CM:HUEJ), which fell 23.73% or 7.50 points to trade at 24.10 at the close. J L Morison Sons & Jones (Ceylon) PLC (CM:MORI) declined 20.00% or 125.00 points to end at 500.00 and Trade Finance & Investments PLC (CM:TFIL) was down 19.71% or 13.50 points to 55.00.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 86 to 77 and 51 ended unchanged.
Shares in Huejay International Investments PLC (CM:HUEJ) fell to all time lows; losing 23.73% or 7.50 to 24.10. Shares in Samson International PLC (CM:SIL) rose to 52-week highs; up 24.95% or 23.70 to 118.70.
Crude oil for September delivery was up 0.16% or 0.11 to $66.92 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in October rose 0.25% or 0.18 to hit $72.25 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.22% or 2.70 to trade at $1217.20 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.62% to 204.575, while USD/LKR rose 0.07% to 160.070.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.40% at 95.84.
