Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Information Technology, Power & Energy and Diversified Holdings sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share lost 0.22%.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were SMB Leasing PLC (CM:SEMB), which rose 14.29% or 0.10 points to trade at 0.80 at the close. Meanwhile, Nawaloka Hospitals PLC (CM:NHL) added 7.89% or 0.30 points to end at 4.10 and Nation Lanka Finance PLC (CM:CSF) was up 7.69% or 0.10 points to 1.40 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Beruwala Resorts PLC (CM:BERU), which fell 11.76% or 0.20 points to trade at 1.50 at the close. Lanka Ashok Leyland PLC (CM:ASHO) declined 9.27% or 138.90 points to end at 1360.00 and Tea Smallholder Factories PLC (CM:TSML) was down 8.31% or 2.50 points to 27.60.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 95 to 59 and 61 ended unchanged.
Shares in Nawaloka Hospitals PLC (CM:NHL) rose to 3-years highs; up 7.89% or 0.30 to 4.10.
Crude oil for July delivery was up 0.71% or 0.35 to $49.91 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in July rose 0.84% or 0.42 to hit $50.16 a barrel, while the June Gold contract rose 0.42% or 5.15 to trade at $1228.95 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.15% to 215.390, while USD/LKR fell 0.13% to 146.550.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.26% at 95.15.
