Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Information Technology, Investment Trust and Power & Energy sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share lost 0.19% to hit a new 3-months low.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Adam Investments Ltd (CM:ADAM), which rose 33.33% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.400 at the close. Meanwhile, PCH Holdings PLC (CM:PCHH) added 25.00% or 0.200 points to end at 1.000 and Equity Two PLC (CM:ETWO) was up 18.00% or 9.90 points to 64.90 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were SMB Leasing PLC (CM:SEMB), which fell 12.50% or 0.1000 points to trade at 0.7000 at the close. Huejay International Investments PLC (CM:HUEJ) declined 12.12% or 5.20 points to end at 37.70 and Tess Agro PLC (CM:TESS) was down 7.69% or 0.100 points to 1.200.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 89 to 75 and 52 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for October delivery was down 0.19% or 0.09 to $47.74 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 0.37% or 0.19 to hit $51.68 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.16% or 2.05 to trade at $1293.05 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.40% to 195.575, while USD/LKR fell 0.11% to 152.840.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.09% at 93.34.
