Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Stores & Supplies, Information Technology and Trading sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share declined 0.19%.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Eden Hotel Lanka PLC (CM:EDEN), which rose 50.00% or 8.20 points to trade at 24.60 at the close. Meanwhile, Palm Garden Hotels PLC (CM:PALM) added 23.15% or 7.20 points to end at 38.30 and Kalamazoo Systems PLC (CM:KZOO) was up 22.57% or 168.50 points to 915.20 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were EB Creasy and Company PLC (CM:EBCR), which fell 16.56% or 241.10 points to trade at 1215.00 at the close. F L C Holdings PLC (CM:FREE) declined 13.16% or 0.500 points to end at 3.300 and Nanda Investments and Finance PLC (CM:NAND) was down 11.39% or 7.20 points to 56.00.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 113 to 75 and 52 ended unchanged.
Shares in Eden Hotel Lanka PLC (CM:EDEN) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 50.00% or 8.20 to 24.60.
Crude oil for July delivery was down 0.27% or 0.13 to $47.53 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in August fell 0.36% or 0.18 to hit $49.77 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.19% or 2.43 to trade at $1282.63 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.90% to 195.460, while USD/LKR fell 0.77% to 151.900.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.26% at 96.86.
