Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Power & Energy, Information Technology and Trading sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share fell 0.18%.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Industrial Asphalts (Ceylon) PLC (CM:ASPH), which rose 19.61% or 73.60 points to trade at 449.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Ceylon Hotels Corporation PLC (CM:CHOT) added 12.07% or 2.80 points to end at 26.00 and SMB Leasing PLC (CM:SEMB) was up 11.11% or 0.10 points to 1.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were PC Pharma PLC (CM:PCPH), which fell 20.00% or 0.10 points to trade at 0.50 at the close. Lanka IOC PLC (CM:LIOC) declined 9.86% or 4.10 points to end at 37.50 and Sathosa Motors PLC (CM:SMOT) was down 9.57% or 27.50 points to 260.00.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 103 to 92 and 26 ended unchanged.
Shares in PC Pharma PLC (CM:PCPH) fell to all time lows; down 20.00% or 0.10 to 0.50.
Crude oil for December delivery was up 0.05% or 0.02 to $42.95 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in January rose 0.15% or 0.07 to hit $46.68 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.20% or 2.20 to trade at $1087.10 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.16% to 214.920, while USD/LKR fell 0.41% to 141.200.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.16% at 99.22.
