Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Palm Oil, Power & Energy and Trading sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share fell 0.16%.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Softlogic Capital PLC (CM:SOCL), which rose 24.44% or 1.10 points to trade at 5.60 at the close. Meanwhile, Softlogic Holdings PLC (CM:SOFT) added 13.50% or 2.70 points to end at 22.70 and Royal Palms Beach Hotels PLC (CM:RPBH) was up 13.14% or 2.30 points to 19.80 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Industrial Asphalts (Ceylon) PLC (CM:ASPH), which fell 23.97% or 94.60 points to trade at 300.00 at the close. Huejay International Investments PLC (CM:HUEJ) declined 21.05% or 8.00 points to end at 30.00 and SMB Leasing PLC (CM:SEMB) was down 16.67% or 0.1000 points to 0.5000.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 105 to 77 and 45 ended unchanged.
Shares in Softlogic Capital PLC (CM:SOCL) rose to 52-week highs; up 24.44% or 1.10 to 5.60. Shares in Softlogic Holdings PLC (CM:SOFT) rose to 5-year highs; rising 13.50% or 2.70 to 22.70.
Crude oil for March delivery was down 0.59% or 0.35 to $58.84 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in April fell 0.27% or 0.17 to hit $62.55 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract rose 0.23% or 3.10 to trade at $1333.50 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.22% to 215.715, while USD/LKR rose 0.37% to 155.540.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.04% at 89.56.
