Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Information Technology, Services and Land & Property sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share declined 0.15%.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Paragon Ceylon PLC (CM:PARA), which rose 25.00% or 12.00 points to trade at 60.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Ceylon Printers PLC (CM:CPRT) added 20.90% or 10.70 points to end at 61.90 and Tess Agro PLC (CM:TESS) was up 16.67% or 0.100 points to 0.700 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Bimputh Finance PLC (CM:BIMP), which fell 11.84% or 4.70 points to trade at 35.00 at the close. Samson International PLC (CM:SIL) declined 10.21% or 10.80 points to end at 95.00 and Hikkaduwa Beach Resort Ltd (CM:CITH) was down 9.38% or 0.60 points to 5.80.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 111 to 76 and 56 ended unchanged.
Shares in Tess Agro PLC (CM:TESS) rose to 5-year lows; gaining 16.67% or 0.100 to 0.700.
Crude oil for August delivery was down 0.86% or 0.63 to $72.31 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 0.87% or 0.67 to hit $76.72 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.26% or 3.30 to trade at $1255.50 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.18% to 210.630, while USD/LKR rose 0.18% to 159.240.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.07% at 94.06.
