Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Services, Motors and Information Technology sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share declined 0.14% to hit a new 3-months low.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were SMB Leasing PLC (CM:SEMB), which rose 14.29% or 0.1000 points to trade at 0.8000 at the close. Meanwhile, Swarnamahal Financial Services PLC (CM:SWAR) added 13.33% or 0.200 points to end at 1.700 and Nation Lanka Finance PLC (CM:CSF) was up 12.50% or 0.200 points to 1.800 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Kelani Valley Plantations PLC (CM:KVAL), which fell 12.70% or 8.00 points to trade at 55.00 at the close. Mahaweli Reach Hotel PLC (CM:MRH) declined 11.74% or 2.70 points to end at 20.30 and Kalamazoo Systems PLC (CM:KZOO) was down 11.59% or 113.00 points to 862.00.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 79 to 71 and 49 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for December delivery was down 0.21% or 0.10 to $46.76 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in January rose 0.35% or 0.17 to hit $48.78 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 1.09% or 13.85 to trade at $1286.95 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.21% to 180.440, while USD/LKR fell 0.19% to 147.660.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.20% at 98.12.
