Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Information Technology, Land & Property and Telecoms sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share declined 0.14%.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were SMB Leasing PLC (CM:SEMB), which rose 25.00% or 0.1000 points to trade at 0.5000 at the close. Meanwhile, Lanka Cement PLC (CM:LCEM) added 23.81% or 0.50 points to end at 2.60 and Amana Takaful Life Ltd (CM:ANTK) was up 23.76% or 2.40 points to 12.50 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Harischandra Mills PLC (CM:HARI), which fell 24.95% or 359.40 points to trade at 1081.00 at the close. Blue Diamonds Jewellery Worldwide PLC (CM:BLUE) declined 16.67% or 0.100 points to end at 0.500 and Serendib Land PLC (CM:SLND) was down 15.30% or 226.70 points to 1255.00.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 84 to 77 and 64 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for October delivery was down 0.41% or 0.28 to $68.44 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in November fell 0.35% or 0.27 to hit $75.86 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.31% or 3.80 to trade at $1209.50 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.40% to 206.825, while USD/LKR rose 0.44% to 161.060.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.08% at 95.16.
