Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Plantations, Power & Energy and Telecoms sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share declined 0.13%.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were PC Pharma PLC (CM:PCPH), which rose 100.00% or 0.1000 points to trade at 0.2000 at the close. Meanwhile, Adam Investments Ltd (CM:ADAM) added 20.00% or 0.100 points to end at 0.600 and Convenience Foods (Lanka) PLC (CM:SOY) was up 13.24% or 43.70 points to 373.70 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Kahawatte Plantations PLC (CM:KAHA), which fell 15.25% or 6.10 points to trade at 33.90 at the close. Nuwara Eliya Hotels Co PLC (CM:NEH) declined 13.87% or 181.20 points to end at 1125.00 and Arpico Finance Company PLC (CM:ARPI) was down 8.82% or 15.00 points to 155.00.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 78 to 71 and 73 ended unchanged.
Shares in Nuwara Eliya Hotels Co PLC (CM:NEH) fell to 3-years lows; down 13.87% or 181.20 to 1125.00.
Crude oil for October delivery was down 0.58% or 0.27 to $46.17 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in November fell 0.45% or 0.23 to hit $51.43 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.10% or 1.34 to trade at $1317.56 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.02% to 197.675, while USD/LKR rose 0.01% to 152.860.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.15% at 92.41.
