Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Information Technology, Manufacturing and Telecoms sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share fell 0.13%.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Tess Agro PLC (CM:TESS), which rose 20.00% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.600 at the close. Meanwhile, Hunter & Company PLC (CM:HUNT) added 14.68% or 61.30 points to end at 478.80 and Lankem Ceylon PLC (CM:LCEY) was up 13.52% or 3.80 points to 31.90 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Blue Diamonds Jewellery Worldwide PLC (CM:BLUE), which fell 28.57% or 0.200 points to trade at 0.500 at the close. Shalimar Estates (CM:SHAL) declined 16.53% or 247.60 points to end at 1250.00 and Tea Smallholder Factories PLC (CM:TSML) was down 11.65% or 2.90 points to 22.00.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 85 to 73 and 55 ended unchanged.
Shares in Blue Diamonds Jewellery Worldwide PLC (CM:BLUE) fell to all time lows; losing 28.57% or 0.200 to 0.500.
Crude oil for October delivery was up 0.07% or 0.05 to $68.77 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in November rose 0.27% or 0.21 to hit $77.48 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.79% or 9.50 to trade at $1210.80 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.04% to 209.210, while USD/LKR fell 0.29% to 161.740.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.03% at 95.10.
