Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Information Technology, Healthcare and Services sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share fell 0.12%.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Serendib Hotels PLC (CM:SHOT), which rose 19.47% or 3.70 points to trade at 22.70 at the close. Meanwhile, Agalawatte Plantations PLC (CM:AGAL) added 14.36% or 2.70 points to end at 21.50 and Swarnamahal Financial Services PLC (CM:SWAR) was up 14.29% or 0.100 points to 0.800 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Nanda Investments and Finance PLC (CM:NAND), which fell 17.73% or 6.10 points to trade at 28.30 at the close. Sathosa Motors PLC (CM:SMOT) declined 8.98% or 38.50 points to end at 390.00 and Horana Plantations PLC (CM:HOPL) was down 8.93% or 2.50 points to 25.50.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 94 to 80 and 40 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for March delivery was down 0.48% or 0.31 to $63.84 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in April fell 0.70% or 0.47 to hit $67.15 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract rose 0.70% or 9.40 to trade at $1345.90 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.16% to 216.045, while USD/LKR rose 0.21% to 154.640.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.20% at 89.39.
