Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Trading, Palm Oil and Investment Trust sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share declined 0.11% to hit a new 52-week low.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Amana Takaful PLC (CM:ATL), which rose 28.57% or 0.200 points to trade at 0.900 at the close. Meanwhile, ASCOT Holdings PLC (CM:ASCO) added 24.83% or 7.20 points to end at 36.20 and EB Creasy and Company PLC (CM:EBCR) was up 20.29% or 227.70 points to 1350.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Ceylon Printers PLC (CM:CPRT), which fell 19.05% or 12.00 points to trade at 51.00 at the close. Harischandra Mills PLC (CM:HARI) declined 18.58% or 251.10 points to end at 1100.00 and Blue Diamonds Jewellery Worldwide PLC (CM:BLUE) was down 14.29% or 0.100 points to 0.600.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 85 to 82 and 59 ended unchanged.
Shares in Ceylon Printers PLC (CM:CPRT) fell to 52-week lows; falling 19.05% or 12.00 to 51.00. Shares in Blue Diamonds Jewellery Worldwide PLC (CM:BLUE) fell to all time lows; losing 14.29% or 0.100 to 0.600.
Crude oil for August delivery was up 0.14% or 0.10 to $72.86 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 0.58% or 0.45 to hit $77.91 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.18% or 2.20 to trade at $1253.90 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.45% to 207.170, while USD/LKR fell 0.09% to 158.240.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.19% at 94.84.
