Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Services, Footwear & Textile and Information Technology sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share lost 0.10%.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Taprobane Holdings PLC (CM:TAPR), which rose 9.30% or 0.400 points to trade at 4.700 at the close. Meanwhile, Colombo Fort Investments PLC (CM:CFI) added 8.51% or 6.90 points to end at 88.00 and Amana Takaful Life Ltd (CM:ANTK) was up 7.14% or 0.10 points to 1.50 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Harischandra Mills PLC (CM:HARI), which fell 35.90% or 1005.40 points to trade at 1795.00 at the close. Swadeshi Industrial Works PLC (CM:SWAD) declined 24.81% or 3349.90 points to end at 10150.10 and Standard Capital PLC (CM:SING) was down 17.28% or 13.60 points to 65.10.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 102 to 89 and 54 ended unchanged.
Shares in Harischandra Mills PLC (CM:HARI) fell to 5-year lows; down 35.90% or 1005.40 to 1795.00. Shares in Swadeshi Industrial Works PLC (CM:SWAD) fell to 3-years lows; losing 24.81% or 3349.90 to 10150.10.
Crude oil for July delivery was up 0.04% or 0.02 to $47.42 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in August rose 0.12% or 0.06 to hit $49.53 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.90% or 11.56 to trade at $1294.26 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.10% to 197.010, while USD/LKR fell 0.13% to 152.650.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.09% at 96.68.
