Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Investment Trust, Plantations and Beverages & Tobacco sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share lost 0.10%.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Adam Investments Ltd (CM:ADAM), which rose 50.00% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.300 at the close. Meanwhile, Lighthouse Hotel PLC (CM:LHL) added 17.71% or 6.20 points to end at 41.20 and Tess Agro PLC (CM:TESS) was up 16.67% or 0.100 points to 0.700 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Indo Malay PLC (CM:INDO), which fell 23.00% or 299.00 points to trade at 1001.00 at the close. Horana Plantations PLC (CM:HOPL) declined 15.90% or 3.80 points to end at 20.10 and Good Hope PLC (CM:GOOD) was down 15.52% or 181.90 points to 990.10.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 84 to 77 and 51 ended unchanged.
Shares in Horana Plantations PLC (CM:HOPL) fell to 52-week lows; down 15.90% or 3.80 to 20.10. Shares in Tess Agro PLC (CM:TESS) rose to 5-year lows; up 16.67% or 0.100 to 0.700.
Crude oil for September delivery was up 1.13% or 0.77 to $69.03 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 1.66% or 1.21 to hit $74.28 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.05% or 0.60 to trade at $1230.50 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.15% to 209.435, while USD/LKR fell 0.25% to 159.550.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.01% at 94.24.
