Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Trading, Motors and Services sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share lost 0.10%.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Adam Investments Ltd (CM:ADAM), which rose 50.00% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.300 at the close. Meanwhile, SMB Leasing PLC (CM:SEMB) added 20.00% or 0.1000 points to end at 0.6000 and PCH Holdings PLC (CM:PCHH) was up 16.67% or 0.100 points to 0.700 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Brown & Company PLC (CM:BRWN), which fell 14.16% or 9.90 points to trade at 60.00 at the close. York Arcade Holdings PLC (CM:YORK) declined 10.60% or 10.60 points to end at 89.40 and Printcare PLC (CM:CARE) was down 9.91% or 3.20 points to 29.10.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 83 to 70 and 74 ended unchanged.
Shares in Adam Investments Ltd (CM:ADAM) rose to all time lows; up 50.00% or 0.100 to 0.300. Shares in Brown & Company PLC (CM:BRWN) fell to 5-year lows; falling 14.16% or 9.90 to 60.00.
Crude oil for July delivery was down 0.62% or 0.45 to $71.75 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in July fell 0.84% or 0.67 to hit $78.90 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract rose 0.32% or 4.10 to trade at $1296.10 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.58% to 211.070, while USD/LKR rose 0.05% to 157.990.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.29% at 93.78.
