Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Investment Trust, Construction & Engineering and Healthcare sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share declined 0.08%.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Adam Investments Ltd (CM:ADAM), which rose 20.00% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.600 at the close. Meanwhile, SMB Leasing PLC (CM:SEMB) added 14.29% or 0.1000 points to end at 0.8000 and Lankem Developments PLC (CM:LDEV) was up 13.64% or 0.600 points to 5.000 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Beruwala Resorts PLC (CM:BERU), which fell 10.00% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.900 at the close. Union Chemicals Lanka PLC (CM:UCHE) declined 10.00% or 50.00 points to end at 450.00 and PCH Holdings PLC (CM:PCHH) was down 10.00% or 0.100 points to 0.900.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 98 to 70 and 55 ended unchanged.
Shares in Lankem Developments PLC (CM:LDEV) rose to 52-week highs; rising 13.64% or 0.600 to 5.000.
Crude oil for October delivery was up 0.04% or 0.02 to $47.31 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in November fell 0.70% or 0.37 to hit $52.38 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.66% or 8.84 to trade at $1339.24 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.56% to 197.125, while USD/LKR fell 0.31% to 152.360.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.30% at 92.54.
