Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Footwear & Textile, Trading and Healthcare sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share declined 0.06% to hit a new 52-week low.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Adam Investments Ltd (CM:ADAM), which rose 50.00% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.300 at the close. Meanwhile, SMB Leasing PLC (CM:SEMB) added 25.00% or 0.1000 points to end at 0.5000 and PCH Holdings PLC (CM:PCHH) was up 25.00% or 0.100 points to 0.500 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Beruwala Resorts PLC (CM:BERU), which fell 14.29% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.600 at the close. Muller & Phipps PLC (CM:MULL) declined 12.50% or 0.100 points to end at 0.700 and Kelani Valley Plantations PLC (CM:KVAL) was down 10.83% or 8.50 points to 70.00.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 103 to 73 and 48 ended unchanged.
Shares in Beruwala Resorts PLC (CM:BERU) fell to all time lows; down 14.29% or 0.100 to 0.600.
Crude oil for October delivery was up 0.15% or 0.10 to $65.52 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in October rose 0.36% or 0.26 to hit $72.47 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.52% or 6.20 to trade at $1200.80 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.59% to 206.095, while USD/LKR rose 0.08% to 160.640.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.28% at 95.41.
