Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Trading, Services and Motors sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share fell 0.06% to hit a new 6-months low.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were SMB Leasing PLC (CM:SEMB), which rose 20.00% or 0.1000 points to trade at 0.6000 at the close. Meanwhile, Mercantile Shipping Company PLC (CM:MSL) added 15.38% or 8.00 points to end at 60.00 and Beruwala Resorts PLC (CM:BERU) was up 14.29% or 0.100 points to 0.800 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were PC Pharma PLC (CM:PCPH), which fell 50.00% or 0.1000 points to trade at 0.1000 at the close. Good Hope PLC (CM:GOOD) declined 24.19% or 375.00 points to end at 1175.00 and Industrial Asphalts (Ceylon) PLC (CM:ASPH) was down 12.60% or 43.40 points to 301.10.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 100 to 63 and 52 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for February delivery was up 0.36% or 0.21 to $57.77 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in February rose 0.05% or 0.03 to hit $63.83 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.33% or 4.20 to trade at $1268.40 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.33% to 205.200, while USD/LKR fell 0.07% to 153.040.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.04% at 93.01.
