Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Information Technology, Trading and Healthcare sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share lost 0.05% to hit a new 1-month low.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were SMB Leasing PLC (CM:SEMB), which rose 25.00% or 0.1000 points to trade at 0.5000 at the close. Meanwhile, Trade Finance & Investments PLC (CM:TFIL) added 15.11% or 8.40 points to end at 64.00 and Nation Lanka Finance PLC (CM:CSF) was up 12.50% or 0.100 points to 0.900 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Tess Agro PLC (CM:TESS), which fell 16.67% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.500 at the close. Lanka Cement PLC (CM:LCEM) declined 10.71% or 0.30 points to end at 2.50 and City Housing and Real Estate Company PLC (CM:CHOU) was down 10.00% or 0.50 points to 4.50.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 106 to 51 and 65 ended unchanged.
Shares in Lanka Cement PLC (CM:LCEM) fell to all time lows; losing 10.71% or 0.30 to 2.50. Shares in City Housing and Real Estate Company PLC (CM:CHOU) fell to all time lows; losing 10.00% or 0.50 to 4.50.
Crude oil for September delivery was up 0.06% or 0.04 to $65.05 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in October rose 0.30% or 0.21 to hit $70.97 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.06% or 0.70 to trade at $1185.70 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.27% to 203.700, while USD/LKR rose 0.17% to 160.440.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.08% at 96.51.
