Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Information Technology, Telecoms and Investment Trust sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share declined 0.04%.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Adam Investments Ltd (CM:ADAM), which rose 25.00% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.500 at the close. Meanwhile, Nuwara Eliya Hotels Co PLC (CM:NEH) added 11.25% or 130.40 points to end at 1290.00 and PCH Holdings PLC (CM:PCHH) was up 11.11% or 0.100 points to 1.000 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Serendib Hotels PLC (CM:SHOT), which fell 11.82% or 2.60 points to trade at 19.40 at the close. Nanda Investments and Finance PLC (CM:NAND) declined 10.26% or 3.90 points to end at 34.10 and Ceylon Beverage Holdings PLC (CM:BREW) was down 8.33% or 50.00 points to 550.00.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 90 to 85 and 60 ended unchanged.
Shares in Serendib Hotels PLC (CM:SHOT) fell to 5-year lows; losing 11.82% or 2.60 to 19.40.
Crude oil for December delivery was unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to $54.30 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in January fell 0.43% or 0.26 to hit $60.23 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.01% or 0.10 to trade at $1277.20 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.18% to 203.450, while USD/LKR fell 0.01% to 153.640.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.16% at 94.55.
