Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Trading, Construction & Engineering and Services sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share fell 0.04% to hit a new 3-months low.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Chemanex PLC (CM:CHMX), which rose 22.56% or 12.70 points to trade at 69.00 at the close. Meanwhile, SMB Leasing PLC (CM:SEMB) added 20.00% or 0.1000 points to end at 0.6000 and Nation Lanka Finance PLC (CM:CSF) was up 14.29% or 0.100 points to 0.800 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Blue Diamonds Jewellery Worldwide PLC (CM:BLUE), which fell 12.50% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.700 at the close. ASCOT Holdings PLC (CM:ASCO) declined 9.71% or 3.40 points to end at 31.60 and Hapugastenne Plantations PLC (CM:HAPU) was down 9.69% or 2.20 points to 20.50.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 75 to 71 and 62 ended unchanged.
Shares in Blue Diamonds Jewellery Worldwide PLC (CM:BLUE) fell to all time lows; losing 12.50% or 0.100 to 0.700. Shares in Nation Lanka Finance PLC (CM:CSF) rose to all time lows; gaining 14.29% or 0.100 to 0.800.
Crude oil for July delivery was down 1.22% or 0.80 to $64.94 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in August fell 1.06% or 0.81 to hit $75.65 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.29% or 3.80 to trade at $1298.90 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.33% to 212.500, while USD/LKR rose 0.06% to 159.140.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.11% at 93.65.
