Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Information Technology, Land & Property and Power & Energy sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share declined 0.03%.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Paragon Ceylon PLC (CM:PARA), which rose 14.38% or 8.80 points to trade at 70.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Commercial Leasing & Finance PLC (CM:COLE) added 14.29% or 0.400 points to end at 3.200 and Adam Investments Ltd (CM:ADAM) was up 12.50% or 0.100 points to 0.900 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were SMB Leasing PLC (CM:SEMB), which fell 16.67% or 0.1000 points to trade at 0.5000 at the close. Central Investments and Finance PLC (CM:CIFL) declined 14.29% or 0.200 points to end at 1.200 and Carson Cumberbatch PLC (CM:CARS) was down 10.12% or 16.90 points to 150.10.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 89 to 69 and 54 ended unchanged.
Shares in SMB Leasing PLC (CM:SEMB) fell to 5-year lows; down 16.67% or 0.1000 to 0.5000. Shares in Carson Cumberbatch PLC (CM:CARS) fell to 5-year lows; losing 10.12% or 16.90 to 150.10.
Crude oil for March delivery was up 0.06% or 0.03 to $53.14 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in April rose 0.05% or 0.03 to hit $55.78 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract rose 0.43% or 5.35 to trade at $1238.45 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.55% to 188.815, while USD/LKR rose 0.13% to 150.870.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.33% at 100.75.
