Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Footwear & Textile, Plantations and Information Technology sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share declined 0.02%.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Lucky Lanka Milk Processing Company Ltd (CM:LLMP), which rose 23.08% or 0.300 points to trade at 1.600 at the close. Meanwhile, Horana Plantations PLC (CM:HOPL) added 14.50% or 2.90 points to end at 22.90 and Muller & Phipps PLC (CM:MULL) was up 14.29% or 0.100 points to 0.800 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were SMB Leasing PLC (CM:SEMB), which fell 20.00% or 0.1000 points to trade at 0.4000 at the close. Paragon Ceylon PLC (CM:PARA) declined 17.04% or 11.30 points to end at 55.00 and Blue Diamonds Jewellery Worldwide PLC (CM:BLUE) was down 14.29% or 0.100 points to 0.600.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 94 to 71 and 59 ended unchanged.
Shares in SMB Leasing PLC (CM:SEMB) fell to 5-year lows; losing 20.00% or 0.1000 to 0.4000. Shares in Blue Diamonds Jewellery Worldwide PLC (CM:BLUE) fell to all time lows; losing 14.29% or 0.100 to 0.600.
Crude oil for September delivery was up 0.65% or 0.44 to $68.33 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 0.23% or 0.17 to hit $73.23 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.06% or 0.70 to trade at $1226.30 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.16% to 209.380, while USD/LKR rose 0.01% to 159.510.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.13% at 94.30.
