Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Stores & Supplies, Services and Palm Oil sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share lost 0.01%.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Adam Investments Ltd (CM:ADAM), which rose 100.00% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.200 at the close. Meanwhile, Tangerine Beach Hotels PLC (CM:TANG) added 16.99% or 7.00 points to end at 48.20 and Tess Agro PLC (CM:TESS) was up 16.67% or 0.100 points to 0.700 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Indo Malay PLC (CM:INDO), which fell 24.61% or 319.90 points to trade at 980.10 at the close. Mercantile Shipping Company PLC (CM:MSL) declined 21.32% or 17.10 points to end at 63.10 and Paragon Ceylon PLC (CM:PARA) was down 20.62% or 9.90 points to 38.10.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 106 to 101 and 47 ended unchanged.
Shares in Adam Investments Ltd (CM:ADAM) rose to 3-years lows; gaining 100.00% or 0.100 to 0.200. Shares in Indo Malay PLC (CM:INDO) fell to 5-year lows; down 24.61% or 319.90 to 980.10. Shares in Tess Agro PLC (CM:TESS) rose to 5-year lows; up 16.67% or 0.100 to 0.700. Shares in Paragon Ceylon PLC (CM:PARA) fell to 5-year lows; down 20.62% or 9.90 to 38.10.
Crude oil for August delivery was up 1.17% or 0.77 to $66.31 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in August rose 1.36% or 0.99 to hit $74.04 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.01% or 0.10 to trade at $1270.60 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.11% to 211.100, while USD/LKR fell 0.40% to 158.860.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.23% at 94.32.
