Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Telecoms, Services and Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share rose 0.40% to hit a new 6-months high.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were PC House PLC (CM:PCHO), which rose 50.00% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.300 at the close. Meanwhile, Commercial Development Company PLC (CM:COMD) added 19.36% or 19.30 points to end at 119.00 and Three Acre Farms PLC (CM:TAFL) was up 17.89% or 17.00 points to 112.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Brown & Company PLC (CM:BRWN), which fell 8.92% or 11.70 points to trade at 119.40 at the close. Colonial Motors PLC (CM:COLO) declined 6.47% or 9.80 points to end at 141.70 and F L C Holdings PLC (CM:FREE) was down 6.25% or 0.10 points to 1.60.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 139 to 65 and 19 ended unchanged.
Shares in Three Acre Farms PLC (CM:TAFL) rose to 3-years highs; up 17.89% or 17.00 to 112.00.
Crude oil for October delivery was down 0.86% or 0.37 to $42.74 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in October rose 0.24% or 0.12 to hit $49.31 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.32% or 3.60 to trade at $1116.30 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.42% to 211.085, while USD/LKR rose 0.18% to 134.895.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.12% at 96.72.
