Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Plantations, Beverages & Tobacco and Land & Property sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share gained 1.55% to hit a new 3-months high.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Browns Investments PLC (CM:BROW), which rose 21.43% or 0.300 points to trade at 1.700 at the close. Meanwhile, SMB Leasing PLC (CM:SEMB) added 20.00% or 0.1000 points to end at 0.6000 and Standard Capital PLC (CM:SING) was up 16.50% or 9.90 points to 69.90 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Serendib Land PLC (CM:SLND), which fell 17.23% or 286.20 points to trade at 1375.00 at the close. Radiant Gems International PLC (CM:RGEM) declined 12.22% or 3.30 points to end at 23.70 and George Steuart Finance Ltd (CM:GEOR) was down 9.66% or 2.80 points to 26.20.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 186 to 29 and 44 ended unchanged.
Shares in Browns Investments PLC (CM:BROW) rose to 52-week highs; rising 21.43% or 0.300 to 1.700.
Crude oil for May delivery was up 0.54% or 0.29 to $53.69 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in June rose 0.62% or 0.35 to hit $56.58 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract rose 0.13% or 1.65 to trade at $1275.85 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.39% to 189.400, while USD/LKR fell 0.40% to 151.710.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.02% at 100.65.
