Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Information Technology, Telecoms and Land & Property sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share added 0.85% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Swarnamahal Financial Services PLC (CM:SWAR), which rose 33.33% or 0.200 points to trade at 0.800 at the close. Meanwhile, Multi Finance PLC (CM:MULT) added 19.23% or 2.50 points to end at 15.50 and Paragon Ceylon PLC (CM:PARA) was up 19.19% or 11.90 points to 73.90 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Nanda Investments and Finance PLC (CM:NAND), which fell 11.43% or 3.20 points to trade at 24.80 at the close. Lighthouse Hotel PLC (CM:LHL) declined 11.06% or 4.50 points to end at 36.20 and George Steuart Finance Ltd (CM:GEOR) was down 7.33% or 1.70 points to 21.50.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 136 to 39 and 49 ended unchanged.
Shares in Lighthouse Hotel PLC (CM:LHL) fell to 5-year lows; down 11.06% or 4.50 to 36.20.
Crude oil for February delivery was down 0.81% or 0.50 to $61.51 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in March fell 0.75% or 0.51 to hit $67.56 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract fell 0.23% or 3.00 to trade at $1318.60 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.06% to 207.885, while USD/LKR fell 0.07% to 153.540.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.20% at 91.78.
