Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Information Technology, Services and Investment Trust sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share gained 0.84% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were PC House PLC (CM:PCHO), which rose 100.00% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.200 at the close. Meanwhile, Swarnamahal Financial Services PLC (CM:SWAR) added 25.00% or 0.200 points to end at 1.000 and Blue Diamonds Jewellery Worldwide PLC (CM:BLUE) was up 20.00% or 0.200 points to 1.200 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Harischandra Mills PLC (CM:HARI), which fell 16.07% or 449.90 points to trade at 2350.00 at the close. Commercial Leasing & Finance PLC (CM:COLE) declined 6.90% or 0.200 points to end at 2.700 and Ceylon Tea Brokers PLC (CM:CEYL) was down 5.71% or 0.200 points to 3.300.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 166 to 36 and 42 ended unchanged.
Shares in PC House PLC (CM:PCHO) rose to 52-week highs; rising 100.00% or 0.100 to 0.200.
Crude oil for May delivery was up 0.92% or 0.47 to $51.50 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in June rose 0.85% or 0.46 to hit $54.63 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract fell 0.29% or 3.65 to trade at $1254.75 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.30% to 189.505, while USD/LKR fell 0.07% to 151.840.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.01% at 100.43.
