Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Footwear & Textile, Land & Property and Construction & Engineering sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share rose 0.83% to hit a new 3-months high.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were PC Pharma PLC (CM:PCPH), which rose 50.00% or 0.1000 points to trade at 0.3000 at the close. Meanwhile, Lanka Ashok Leyland PLC (CM:ASHO) added 25.00% or 251.10 points to end at 1255.50 and Multi Finance PLC (CM:MULT) was up 17.21% or 2.10 points to 14.30 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Singer Sri Lanka PLC (CM:SINS), which fell 67.83% or 94.90 points to trade at 45.00 at the close. SMB Leasing PLC (CM:SEMB) declined 16.67% or 0.1000 points to end at 0.5000 and Central Investments and Finance PLC (CM:CIFL) was down 12.50% or 0.100 points to 0.700.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 140 to 46 and 58 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for May delivery was up 0.18% or 0.09 to $51.24 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in June rose 0.26% or 0.14 to hit $54.50 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract rose 0.50% or 6.25 to trade at $1254.75 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.02% to 189.465, while USD/LKR rose 0.03% to 151.840.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.03% at 100.49.
