Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Investment Trust, Trading and Construction & Engineering sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share rose 0.83%.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were PCH Holdings PLC (CM:PCHH), which rose 33.33% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.400 at the close. Meanwhile, SMB Leasing PLC (CM:SEMB) unchanged 0.00% or 0.0000 points to end at 0.5000 and Beruwala Resorts PLC (CM:BERU) was up 16.67% or 0.100 points to 0.700 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Gestetner of Ceylon PLC (CM:GEST), which fell 10.91% or 12.00 points to trade at 98.00 at the close. Industrial Asphalts (Ceylon) PLC (CM:ASPH) declined 9.14% or 34.20 points to end at 340.00 and Kelani Cables PLC (CM:KCAB) was down 7.38% or 5.90 points to 74.00.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 134 to 35 and 50 ended unchanged.
Shares in Gestetner of Ceylon PLC (CM:GEST) fell to 52-week lows; down 10.91% or 12.00 to 98.00. Shares in Beruwala Resorts PLC (CM:BERU) rose to all time lows; gaining 16.67% or 0.100 to 0.700.
Crude oil for November delivery was up 0.31% or 0.23 to $74.56 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 0.04% or 0.03 to hit $84.61 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.34% or 4.10 to trade at $1205.70 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.32% to 221.985, while USD/LKR rose 0.11% to 170.240.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.09% at 95.52.
