Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Power & Energy, Information Technology and Services sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share rose 0.81% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Nanda Investments and Finance PLC (CM:NAND), which rose 23.97% or 5.80 points to trade at 30.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Mercantile Shipping Company PLC (CM:MSL) added 15.38% or 8.00 points to end at 60.00 and Amana Takaful PLC (CM:ATL) was up 14.29% or 0.100 points to 0.800 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Swarnamahal Financial Services PLC (CM:SWAR), which fell 25.00% or 0.200 points to trade at 0.600 at the close. Odel PLC (CM:ODEL) declined 14.84% or 3.80 points to end at 21.80 and Blue Diamonds Jewellery Worldwide PLC (CM:BLUE) was down 9.09% or 0.100 points to 1.000.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 108 to 47 and 51 ended unchanged.
Shares in Swarnamahal Financial Services PLC (CM:SWAR) fell to all time lows; falling 25.00% or 0.200 to 0.600.
Crude oil for February delivery was up 0.18% or 0.11 to $60.48 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in March rose 0.15% or 0.10 to hit $66.67 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract fell 0.05% or 0.60 to trade at $1315.50 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.01% to 208.705, while USD/LKR rose 0.10% to 153.710.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.23% at 91.77.
